The Carrazedo levada takes water from a small tributary of the Alombada stream to an irrigated area overlooking the stream, not far from the town of Carrazedo.
The path alongside the levada invites you to take a stroll accompanied by the sound of water on hot summer days.
Next to a row of mills, a waterfall gives rise to a small pond that will delight the little ones.
This is therefore the waterfall of choice for a family walk.
At the waterfall and rapids, keep an eye out: if you're lucky, you might spot the elusive water blackbird, a small bird that lives in mountain rivers.
