Geographically, Sever do Vouga occupies a large part of the Arestal mountain range, which is part of the Gralheira massif. Sever do Vouga defines itself as a green and fresh territory, due to the presence of a varied hydrographic network, with the reservoir, rivers, streams and waterfalls that drain it, and the extraordinary beauty of its mountain landscapes.
It is the gateway to the Montanhas Mágicas and the Ria de Aveiro. This is Sever do Vouga, where mountain and water offer the most beautiful scenery for contemplation.
A Nature Destination par excellence!
A territorial tourist brand based on the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism, promoted by ADRIMAG - the Integrated Rural Development Association of the Montemuro, Arada and Gralheira Mountains, with the support and collaboration of the seven municipalities that make up this territory.
Arouca, Castelo de Paiva, Castro Daire, Cinfães, S. Pedro do Sul, Sever do Vouga and Vale de Cambra are the municipalities that make up the territory known as Montanhas Mágicas. More than an administrative union, the result of three decades of work by ADRIMAG, the seven municipalities that make up the "Montanhas Mágicas" territory have a strong natural connection, centred on the Montemuro, Arada and Gralheira mountains, around which they are located.
This mountain massif, imposing and magical by nature, has since ancient times been the main promoter of the physical and cultural union of these seven municipalities, whose diversity and unique character of its natural and geological resources, together with its vast historical and cultural heritage, make this territory a nature destination par excellence, which must be preserved.
