VOUGATRAIL 2025

On 10, 11 and 12 January 2025, Sever do Vouga will once again be the perfect setting for trail running lovers.

The 6th edition of Vouga Trail, an event organised by the AZtrail Association in partnership with the Municipality of Sever do Vouga, will feature several races covering different distances, five of which will be runs, a walk and a race dedicated to young people.

The 6th edition of the Vouga Trail promises to challenge athletes in terms of their physical and mental endurance and to showcase the natural and historic landscapes that characterise Sever do Vouga.

This event, which has increasingly become a reference in the national calendar and is already internationally recognised, promises to raise the bar and offer a unique experience, even for those who have already had the opportunity to take part in other editions, as the 6th edition will turn everything upside down and the routes will all run in the opposite direction to previous years.

Another novelty is that the starting and finishing points will remain at the Sever do Vouga Sports Pavilion, a location that guarantees simplified logistics and creates a cosy atmosphere for both the participants and the public who come to take part in this great festival.

Over the years, the Vouga Trail has been recognised for its ability to integrate trail running with nature and the town's history and so, among the trails meticulously defined by the organisers, runners will have the opportunity to cross iconic sites such as the Poço de Santiago Bridge, the Braçal Mines, the Cabreia Waterfall, the Vouga Valley Ecotrail, the Ribeiradio Dam, among others.

In order to preserve these sites environmentally, Vouga Trail 2025 will be even more restricted in terms of the number of participants in each race, which will ensure that the trails are experienced in the best way and minimise the impact on the region. This concern for sustainability continues to be part of the event's philosophy and allows us to provide everyone with a memorable experience, both for the athletes and for the visitors who take the opportunity to explore Sever do Vouga and its verdant landscapes.

Runners can register and take advantage of the first phase until 6 November, at a reduced price, and then there will be a second and final phase with a deadline of 1 January 2025.
