Cortez Park, on the edge of the town of the same name, is an inviting riverside space with good infrastructure and well integrated into the existing grove.
The many trees in this park are native species, such as alder and chestnut, among others.
The Alfusqueiro River forms a long, deep pool here due to the dam just downstream from the park.
Here you can socialise, have a group meal, rest and enjoy the birdsong and the natural surroundings. The presence of this grove of trees by the water makes it possible to observe forest birds such as titmice (Aegithalos caudatus), as well as other species with riverside habits, such as grey wagtails (Motacilla cinerea) and white wagtails (Motacilla alba).
